Steven Coulthard
PGA of Canada Class A Professional
Head Professional, Talking Rock Golf Course
I’ve spent my career helping golfers get better at the game they love. From running one of Northern BC’s premier courses to now leading instruction at Talking Rock Golf Course in Chase, BC, my focus has always been the same: meet you where you are and bring you forward.
I hold a Class A designation from the PGA of Canada and a diploma in Golf Course Resort Management from McMaster. But credentials only matter if they translate to results — and that’s what I care about.
My Coaching Philosophy
Fundamentals First
Every lesson starts with the basics that matter most. Grip, posture, alignment, ball position — the building blocks that make everything else work. No shortcuts, no gimmicks.
Technology as a Tool
A GC Quad launch monitor and Sportsbox AI 3D motion analysis are available for any lesson — not because technology is the point, but because when you want the data, it confirms what we’re working on and tracks your progress.
Your Goals, Your Pace
Whether you want to break 90, hit the ball more consistently, or just enjoy your round more — I adapt the lesson to you. Every golfer is different, and that’s the whole point.
Who I Work With
Most of my clients are mid-handicap recreational golfers — the 12 to 20 range — who love the game and want to get better without the pressure of a clinical, overly technical experience. If that sounds like you, we’ll get along well.
Beyond the Course
When I’m not on the course, you’ll find me exploring the Shuswap with my family. Chase and Sorrento are home now — and Talking Rock is one of BC’s hidden gems. If you haven’t played it, add it to your list.
